*Wildcards*
Web content can be blocked or allowed by adding *keywords* to the Website URLs section of a policy. Each entry must have a * (wildcard/asterisk) immediately before and after the word. A keyword with wildcards will block or allow any URL that contains the word.
For example, search results and all URLs that contain the word unblocked can be blocked by adding *unblocked* to the website URLs list as a Block Rule.
Adding *unblocked* as a block rule would block sites such as the following:
- sites.google.com/unblockedgames
- unblockedvideos.com
- search results for "unblocked" games
Keyword blocking can be overridden by creating an allow rule on the in the Websites URLs section of the policy that contains the wildcard block rule.
Protip: Avoid blocking short or common words as it may lead to web content being blocked unintentionally.
