Have a webpage that a student needs to access, but can't while your Block Mode Scene is applied?
Not to worry! It's now easier than ever to determine which site your student was attempting to access so you can add that URL to the site exceptions in your Block Mode Scene!
Setting a Scene to Block Mode will block all sites except what was explicitly allowed the site Exceptions. If you need to determine the site the student was blocked from and add it to your Scene, this can be done in three easy steps!
First, click the screen tile for the student that was blocked.
The site that was blocked will show as 'Website Blocked by Scene'. You will see an option to unblock this site for the entire class. Doing so allows you to apply this allowance to your current Scene permanently so that all future sessions where this Scene is applied will not see a block on these same sites again.
Note: Only the teacher who is the owner of the Scene will be able to use the Block or Unblock for class option.
Confirm the allowance in your Scene to update for the entire classroom.
If you would like to enter this as a Wildcard, you can add an asterisk before and after the domain. Adding Wildcards will open up more parts of a site (ex. *google.com* will open up access to www.google.com and www.google.com/search).
For more information on WIldcards, you can click here to view our Wildcard article for GoGuardian Teacher Scenes.
After updating the Scene, students will be able to browse the newly allowed site immediately.
*If students continue to experience trouble with accessing the exact site that was added, please have them try performing a chrome restart on their device. This would be done by having the student type chrome://restart into the address bar and press enter.
