How to review a Beacon 24/7 Alert
Video on How to Review an Alert
Escalated Active Planning alerts are student-triggered events that the GoGuardian Safety Support team has reviewed and determined to need urgent and immediate action. Therefore, these alerts should be reviewed within GoGuardian Beacon and action should be taken as soon as possible.
On the Beacon dashboard, Beacon 24/7 alerts that need to be reviewed will have a green, blue, or red notification box below them stating that these particular alerts need attention immediately. To clear these messages, click into the alert, review the message from GoGuardian Safety Support and check the "Mark as Read" checkbox.
Note: Beacon users will still need to toggle all necessary "Actions Taken for This Alert" in order to properly resolve the alert. Toggling actions taken will also remove the blue outline around the alert card.
Beacon 24/7 Alert Messages
A green notification means the Safety Support team has reviewed the alert, decided to escalate it, and has successfully made contact with a member of the Escalation List. These alerts should be viewed and action should be taken immediately.
A blue notification means the Safety Support team has reviewed the alert, and chose to re-categorize the alert to a more appropriate Phase. These alerts should be addressed as you would any other Beacon alert.
A red notification means the Safety Support team has reviewed the alert but has failed to make contact with anyone on the Escalation List, including the Last Responder. These alerts are urgent and should be addressed immediately.
Reminder: After confirming that you have read the alert card, you can process the card the same way you would any other Beacon alert. We suggest toggling the action(s) taken and select the risk level of the student before closing out of the alert. You can refer to your school's Suicide Prevention Policy to help in determining what actions your users take at this stage.
Under the Rationale tab, reviewed Beacon 24/7 alerts will include a brief summary from the Safety Support team about the details of the escalation, whether they have been successfully or unsuccessfully escalated, or if a different phase was chosen. Beacon users can read further details within the alert and must check the "Mark as Read" box in order to clear the reminder on the dashboard
