Enabling Video Conferencing or Present to Class for GoGuardian Teacher for the first time? Follow the steps below to get started with using these features.
NOTE: If you have enabled/used Video Conferencing and/or Present to Class prior to December 14th, 2020, click here to view specific firewall setting requirements for this scenario.
1. Enable the features in Org Management
Conference Call Settings (organizations with Video Conferencing)
Select whether to enable/disable 1:1 calls and group calls, whether students and/or teachers can use their webcams, and whether calls can be recorded (with student consent) during classroom sessions.
- Lecture / Presentation Settings
Select whether to enable/disable Lecture / Presentation (or "Present to Class") mode, and whether teachers can use their webcam and/or record the presentation during classroom sessions.
Note: Recording is only available for organizations with the Video Conferencing add-on.
Update Firewall / Content Filter Settings
GoGuardian products require open connections to a number of back-end services. Firewalls and other content filters may unintentionally flag and block connections to these services due to the elevated number of active connections or HTTP requests.
If you are experiencing large-scale connection issues, check your firewall or any additional content filters for blocked connection attempts to the services listed below. If connections are being blocked, please add the corresponding URL to your firewall or filter's allow list.
