What is it?
GoGuardian Teacher's Scenes for student groups feature allows teachers to apply Scenes to independent groups within a single classroom session. This allows teachers to organize and filter their students on a per group basis. Previously, Scenes were applied to an entire class or not at all. With Scenes for student groups, teachers are empowered to manage student groups on a more granular level.

How does it work?
Applying Scenes to Individual Groups
There are two ways for teachers to apply Scenes at the group level.
The first method is by clicking the checkbox in the top left of one or many individual student tiles, and choosing to Apply a Scene in the bottom command bar. The Apply a Scene button is a new addition to the command bar.
Clicking the Apply a Scene button will open a new prompt for you to select which Scene to apply to the selected students.
Once a Scene is applied, click Done. You will receive a success message that the Scene has been applied, and your groups will show based on the students you've selected. These groups are formed by placing the selected students into one group, and all others into a second group. You will also notice two group specific Scene dropdowns.
Once groups are active, if you'd like to change a Scene, you must use these dropdowns. The top right dropdown will no longer work while groups are active. It will instead indicate all of the currently active Scenes in any group.
The second option for setting Scenes for student groups is very similar, but the student groups get created first. Please create the student groups using the dropdown menu as normal. Once you are in the group view, use the individual group dropdowns to select and apply Scenes to the student groups.

User Interface Changes
The top right Scene dropdown menu
While student groups are enabled, the original Scene drop down menu changes. Teachers are likely in the habit of using this dropdown menu frequently, so it's important to note the differences to this menu with student groups active.
Groups are active, but no Scene is applied
While groups are active, Scenes must be applied using the individual group dropdowns.
Groups are active, but no Scenes exist
If a teacher has no Scenes, they'll be provided with the option to create one.
Groups are active, and a Scene is applied
While groups are active and a Scene is applied, the only options for teachers will be to disable all active Scenes, which are listed below.
Note: If you select to disable all Scenes, you must use the individual group dropdown menus to reapply Scenes.
If you start the class with a default Scene, when student groups are created, each group will automatically have the default scene. To change them, please use the individual dropdown menu within the group.
